How can I Learn the Bagpipes?
Have you always wanted to learn the bagpipes? You are not alone! Many people across Ontario have chosen to learn the Great Highland Bagpipe. You do not require previous musical knowledge or experience to learn the bagpipe.
Oddly enough, you do not start on a bagpipe. You will start on the practice chanter. The practice chanter is a quiet training aid used to learn the complex fingerwork of piping before the student transitions to the full bagpipe
How can I Find a Teacher?
There are many teachers throughout Ontario. Contact the PPBSO Administrator to find a teacher near you. When contacting don't forget to include your playing level and location.
Also, Many pipe bands in Ontario also offer teaching programs as part of their pipe band program. Contact your local branch to find a band in your area.
