As you know the PPBSO is on a drive to increase our youth membership and ensure that our current youth members thrive. One of our initiatives is to develop the Ontario Youth Pipe Band. This group welcomes any youth player from any band to join in and have some fun, learn some stuff, meet new friends and share some musical experiences outside the competition circle.
This project is being ably led by our very own Tyler Bridge and we're also fortunate that so many of our senior members are willing to help make this a success and a memorable experience for our young folk.
First Workshop
This weekend marks the first workshop for the group to be held at the Jam School in Guelph. This facility was generously donated for the day by the school.
So many have chipped in to help: Drew Duthart wrote snare scores and the impressive line-up of instructors this weekend include, Peter Aumonier, Liz Sheridan, Glenna MacKay-Johnstone, Jamie Alfred, Shannon Brooks, Dave Fenton and Tyler Bridge.

The team of instructors are excited and looking forward to meeting everyone - it's going to be a blast!
This workshop will help get the band ready to play some tunes at a performance on the Friday night Fergus Tattoo on August 8th.
This is just the start of things to come. The Youth Development Committee has begun planning a piping & drumming Summer camp for 2026.
Anyone interested in helping with youth initiatives in the future please contact Tyler Bridge.

Thanks to all who have worked towards this and a well-done to all taking part and to Tyler Bridge, who must be among the busiest pipers or drummers in Ontario. Enjoy the day!
