It was a hot one but that did not deter the enthusiastic crowds or take away from the various solo and band competitions.
The professional piper of the day was Joe Biggs, amateur piper of the day was Jean-Sebastian Gamache, amateur drummer of the day was Cole Chisholm and amateur drum major went to Keegan Willey.

A full listing of solo and band results and judges can be found HERE.

This was P/M John Cairns last competition with the band in Ontario. John is stepping down after 17 years as Pipe Major of PRPPB and a long illustrious pipe band career. In a fitting tribute John was able to march off the large combined Peel Regional Police Pipe Band at the end of the massed bands.
We wish all the best to John and the band at the upcoming Worlds next week.

Ontario Youth Pipe Band (OYPB)
On Friday night at the Fergus Scottish Festival tattoo, the Ontario Youth Pipe Band put on a great performance for the very appreciative crowd.

A big thanks to all the participants of the OYPB for your enthusiasm and commitment. Special thanks to Tyler Bridge for making this happen and also to all the older members of the band that mentor the younger kids, your presence is extremely valuable and very much appreciated.
