If you’re a piping or drumming instructor with some time this summer, here’s a great opportunity to teach your craft to some eager young folk.
For the first time since 2019, the Blackdown Cadet Training Centre at Canadian Forces Base Borden (near Barrie Ontario) will be holding a summer camp for beginner and intermediate student pipers and drummers under the age of 18.
Piping and Drumming instructors would be contracted from June 25 to August 18 (or a portion thereof) and live at Blackdown during the camp.
“The summer starts with the Intermediate Cadet Musician program of four weeks in length, followed by the Beginner Cadet Musician program of two weeks,” said PPBSO Music Committee member Brian McCue, who is helping with recruiting. “More than 120 young musicians will be coming to the camp looking for a great piping and drumming experience.”
