Band affiliation:
Piping since 1961 with Toronto Scottish Regiment as a Boy Piper. Enlisted in The Canadian Armed Forces Militia in 1963 with the 48th Highlanders of Canada as a Piper. Competed in Grade 1 Pipe Band competitions with 48th Highlanders of Canada Pipes and Drums in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Competed with Metropolitan Toronto Police Pipe Band in Grade 2 in late 1970’s. Pipe Major of Scarborough Pipe Band and took them into competition in Grade 4 then Grade 3 in the 1980’s as well as Pipe Major or the 25 Toronto Service Battalion taking them into Grade 4 completion in the 1980’s. Pipe Major of the Toronto Scottish Regiment the Queen Mother’s Own Pipes and Drums in the 2010’s period. My first instructor was Pipe Major John Wakefield of the Toronto Scottish Regiment. My second instructor was Pipe Major Archie Dewar of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Pipe Major Reay Mackay of the 48th Highlanders of Canada was my piobaireachd instructor. I also have been composing pipe music since the mid 1960’s.
