Biography

Larry was born in Guelph, Ontario and has remained in the area all his life.

He started his drumming career at the age of 12 and played mostly with the Guelph Pipe Band winning virtually every drumming prize in Ontario along with Maxville wins in 1976 and 1981 and the Intercontinental Pipe Band Championship at the Canadian National Exhibition.    He has also been a drummer  in Clan MacFarlane Pipe Band and 48th Highlanders of Canada Pipes and Drums winning Champion Supreme in grade 2.

Larry was mostly self taught, however, mentors along the way were Jim Fraser, Robert Turner  and Joe Noble.

Retired from competitive play, he still enjoys teaching, writing and listening to the bands.
